Really appreciate the time you spent giving us this feedback, it helps us get better as an employer.
As this was the only offer declined in the second half of last year, I have a feel for what happened here. We were excited about you as a candidate as you were interested in the opportunity even though you had significantly more experience than our typical Assistant Controller candidate we target. Although we were clear about the compensation range up front, we weren't able to reach an agreement once you received an offer more in line with your years of experience. Would have loved to have had you on the team, but you were certainly a "reach" candidate for us.
We've learned from this experience to target Assistant Controllers with experience more in line with our comp range and give them the opportunity to learn and grow as part of our team.
In terms of the ESOP, we've been an ESOP for a little over two years. During that time our share price (as determined by a 3rd party valuation firm) has increased by 54%, which we feel represents solid performance.
Lastly, not sure who gave you the impression during the interview process that you were required to generate new business as part of your continued employment. We have a separate sales team that is responsible for new business generation. I apologize that we left you with that impression.
Thanks again for the feedback, bummed that it didn't work out with us, but I'm sure you're doing an amazing job for the company you joined, you were a great candidate.
