Originally it was for just an office manager role, but after speaking with me they said they requested the larger role to be opened ahead of schedule. Had several phone/google hangouts interviews as I was making the move from SF to NYC. I was set to meet the GM in Palo Alto, but the day before it was cancelled saying they didn't want me going to PayPal offices for a less than stellar experience. So we waited two weeks until I came back from Europe. I was already planning to be in NYC so they didn't fly me out. However the Monday before my final interview I reached out asking for confirmation of time - no response from either recruiter. Wednesday evening before I flew I called recruiter and left a voicemail. Thursday morning on my flight I received an email apologizing and asking to connect when I landed. Upon landing I got on phone with recruiter who said they were sorry but PayPal put the role on hold and we wouldn't be moving forward and I was overqualified for the office manager role at that time. But to keep in touch because they weren't sure when it would open back up but would like to discuss with me when it does.
Very disappointing after two months of going through the interview process, being told they were really excited about me and then going silent the week I was flying out. I regret not pushing to keep original meeting with GM as that may have made a difference.
As of now I've been told the role won't be on the hiring roster.
