      Brief standard screening with the recruiter. First question was about my current experience. Second question was about my salary expectations. Interview ended when I told them my target numbers (in line with market). Their target pay was $35-50k under average for a (non-senior) PM

      Entrevista

      Initial meeting with recruiter/ HR that had to be rescheduled last minute as she didn't show, but once we finally met the questions were standard from a list. Second meeting was with the hiring manager which was great and enjoyable. Third interview was with a panel of 2 and last and final interview was with the VP and hiring manager. Here's where the issue lies....I had already received another offer right before this interview but was electing to proceed with this final step as once I had advised the recruiter I had another offer and was only willing to proceed as long as they were not still in the selection process, I was informed that I was the only person going to the final round and to please wait on the other offer and give them a shot. She even asked what my other offer contained and how I felt about it compared to what Velocity was offering. I was asked to put together a presentation of a product or feature that I had worked on and again I advised that I was only going to put the time and effort into preparing a presentation if they were serious. I felt the interview and presentation went well and they seemed impressed. I was advised at the end of the interview by the hiring manager that they were still interviewing and then received an email a day or two later stating that they had elected to proceed with other candidates. So, either something significantly changed in the process despite the hiring manager and panel interviews being very successful (that the recruiter was able to confirm from their feedback form) or I was lied to and wasted my time. Luckily my other offer was still open and I was able to proceed forward with a better opportunity for me, however I just wanted to forewarn other candidates and interviewees not to believe anything they tell you about your candidacy or status and always do what is best for you! I cannot recommend Velocity at this time based on how I was treated during this interview process.

      I am in the intial stages of the interview process and so far I had 2 screening rounds with Sasha Munroe who is the recruiter for this position. My experience with Sasha has been great. She demonstrates good understanding of the Product Manager position I am interviewing for and she also shared sufficient information about the company and the job during the screening. My interview experience and communication with Sasha gave me a positive feel for the company culture at VelocityEHS. It seems to me that the company wants to get to know people well before hiring which can also mean that they would prioritize getting to know their coworkers which can help to grow them within the company. I am totally looking forward to my next interviews.
