Me postulé a través de un reclutador. El proceso tomó 1 semana. Acudí a una entrevista en Varsity Tutors (White Plains, NY) en nov 2012
Entrevista
It was a pretty cut and dry process: I sent in my resume, went through a phone interview with one of the recruiters in which she asked what subjects I was comfortable teaching, how much teaching experience I had and if I was ok to travel to appointments (among other questions). At the end of the phone interview, we set a date for an in-person interview. This interview mainly consists of a VT recruiter observing your teaching style in the subjects you have selected to teach (so if you chose math, they give you a few math problems; if you chose reading, they ask you to walk them through a reading comprehension passage as if they were the student, etc). At the end of the interview, if you didn't get the job, you'll know immediately (they sent me an email letting me know this a mere 5 minutes after the interview was done).

Depending on the subject you choose to teach, they will ask you to do a brief presentation to see how well you can explain the complexities of your subject.

There was not one only exams that had to be passed to teach certain subjects. It is an AI test so it is set up like an interview. I really liked this process.

You are sent a link to an online video interview. They ask you about previous tutoring experience and the last question was asking you to do a mock-tutoring session. It's very awkward because you have to make up what you want to teach on the spot, but you get unlimited time to think of responses.

AI Interview, very easy. Asked very basic question's regarding experience, motivation, etc. I’m a freshman student in UMD and so I haven’t been to many job interviews, but this was genuinely easy.
