Me postulé en línea. Acudí a una entrevista en Vancouver Fashion Week (Vancouver, BC) en jul 2017

      Entrevista

The interview process is horrible, I think it is the worst company I have interviewed in my life. Also, I highly doubt that the whole company is a scam, and they never recruit paid employee (only want free labor/intern) . I saw their job post on Indeed, and send my resume, they emailed me back for an interview time. I was pretty surprised here cuz they do not ask me my availability, instead just send me a time and ask me to come at that time. When I arrived there, I was shocked at what I was seeing. Their office room (approximately 15 square meters) was packed with people (around 25 people) sitting side by side, and some even with laptops on their body cuz there is no space for them to put their laptops. All of them look pretty young, and I guess they are students. I was standing in front of the door (there is no room for me to step inside) for 5 minutes, and finally, some girl realized I'm not one of their interns. She still doing sth on her laptop, but she told me to go to another room for the interview. I went to another room, it is about 10 square meters, and there is only one Japanese lady inside, who claims herself as the manager of VFW. She asked me some questions, and then she started talking and talking, all focused on how amazing she thinks VFW is, and also she shows that she is very interested in my background. I was thinking oh maybe the interview went well. However, before the end of the interview, she asked me:"ARE YOU WILLING TO WORK AS A FREE INTERN?", I said:" sorry, on the JD it says it's a paid position (around 23 per hour), and I'm not a student, and also I have three years working experience. After heard my answer, she immediately stopped talking, and looking at me. From the point, she never spoke to me one more word. So I was like, :"oh, so the interview finished?" She : “ um-hum" I asked "Can I asked a couple questions?" She: "um-hum" I said:" can you tell me more about the working condition here, cuz I saw there are 20-30 people packed in that small room, are you guys planning to upgrade your office room? She:"um-hum" Then I tried to asked her one more question, but she still replied me using :"um-hum" After this, I know that she just wants to get free labor, and the whole job post probably is a scam, which they mainly used it to attract people to apply and trying to convince them to work as a free intern (like the 20 people in that small tiny room). I walked out of the room as quickly as I can, and I felt so horrible that I totally wasted my time on my preparation and come to this interview. IF YOU ARE APPLYING A POSITION IN VFW, BE CAREFUL!

      Entrevista

Smooth, after the application the manager would contact you by email. There are 2 rounds of interviews. First round is online interview and the final round would be in-person at their office.

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

Nothing really special. They would be asking you about your background & related experience. Then they would introduce company background & daily duties.
