Three rounds: Hiring manager, CTO, final panel with peers, hiring manager, and cross-functional colleague. I made it through to the final interview, and was told I would hear early the following week. A full two weeks after the final round, and after a thank-you note and two follow-ups, I concluded I was ghosted. Only after sending the CTO a very direct follow-up asking what had happened did he reply saying they "missed the mark" on their communication. That's the understatement of the century. Shortly thereafter I got an official rejection from the hiring manager. I can only conclude they willingly ignored my follow-ups and had ghosted me instead of giving me the benefit of a rejection after 2 hours of interviews. Very disappointing.
