I am currently a VIPKID Teacher for 2 months now doing it full time. My interview started out by me finding out through an Uber driver and was excited about the fact you get to work at home and make your own hours. The process was very nicely laid out and straightforward. 1)you sign up 2)fill out basic infor 3) Have a virtual face-to-face demo lesson or record yourself doing a demo lesson. 4) take 2 mock classes (if you did exceptional on the first one, you skip to step 5) 5) Sign the contract and upload a self-introduction as your profile. Easy as that right? Its straight forward. Its difficult in the sense that the graders have a reputation to be meticulous. however i had a nice grader. Heres the thing, many people reviewing this interview will say they fail the mock class even though they have monstrous amount of experience in ESL. Heres the thing, VIPKID has a specific curriculum that they teach and certain style of teaching no one is really used to. The style is about having LOTS OF ENERGY. Enthusiastic isn't what they look for, they look for ENERGY matched with TPR. In other words, if you feel very silly, you are doing something right. Thats the number one priority that they look for. Anyways, I offered the position after my first mock class, and had an enjoyable experience ever since.
