I found the job posting on an internet job board, which directed me to UnitedHealth Group’s web site where I created a profile and submitted my resume. Around 4 weeks later, I received a call from a scheduling coordinator in their recruitment services group regarding setting up an on-site interview with the hiring manager (no phone screening was requested). When I arrived for the interview the following week, I was greeted by the hiring manager who took me to a conference room where two additional interviewers were waiting. The interviewers were all very friendly as they described the position and job responsibilities, and they asked me somewhat general questions about my resume and qualifications and what my career objectives were. I don't recall being asked too many behavioral or situational questions, which was a pleasant change from some of the other interviews I had recently. I was provided with brief tour of the facility after the interview, which I also appreciated. I asked for specific contact information from the three interviewers so I could send thank you notes, but I was told that they can only provide their names and that all subsequent contact and correspondence needs to go through the recruitment services group. The next day I sent a thank you note to the scheduling coordinator asking that it be forwarded to the persons I interviewed with. I never received a response from the scheduling coordinator on whether the communication was ever forwarded, and it has been 3 weeks since the interview and I haven't yet heard anything regarding my candidacy for the job. I plan to follow-up with the scheduling coordinator in the next day or so to see if I'm still being considered.
