Initial HR Screening (Phone Call – 10 mins):
I received a call from the HR executive the day after I applied.
She briefly explained the job profile, which involved outbound calling to students and promoting Unacademy’s paid courses.
She asked basic questions like:
Are you comfortable with sales targets?
Are you fluent in Hindi and English?
Do you have a laptop and stable internet?
Once I confirmed everything, she scheduled the next round for the next day.
2. Sales Manager Interview (Google Meet – 20 mins):
This was the most important round.
Questions asked:
Tell me about yourself.
Why do you want to work in sales?
How would you convince a student to buy a course?
Can you give a mock sales pitch? (I had to act like I was selling a course to a student.)
How do you handle rejection?
I tried to be confident and focused on my communication skills, even though I didn’t have sales experience. I mentioned I was a quick learner and shared an example of how I persuaded a friend to join a class through good explanation.
3. Final HR Round (Google Meet – 15 mins):
This was more about discussing:
Salary expectations (Fixed + Performance-based incentives)
Work timings (10 AM – 7 PM)
6-day working week
Location preference (though it was remote for now)
Joining date
Result:
I got selected and received the offer letter within 2 days. The overall experience was professional and fast.
