I first went in for a group interview after completing the online application. While I expected the group interview to take maybe 30 minutes to an hour, my interview took 2.5 hours! Basically, we each talked about our experiences as customers (positive and negative) and how we hoped to take those experiences and move forward with them in order to positively shape Ulta's customer experience. Then, we went over the core values of the company and how those translated to a Beauty Advisor's position. After a couple of days, I was contacted to interview the following week with the store manager. I just had that a couple of days ago, and this one was much more efficient. It was only 30 minutes long, we went over my availability, my expected rate of pay, and once again went over what we thought the core values meant if we were to work at Ulta and with the customers. I am still waiting to hear back about whether I will be offered the position. The whole process was very relaxed and did not feel very formal at all. It was very conversational and both interviewers were very friendly and easy to talk to.

Straight-forward. One in person one on one interview with a manager. Short process and the manager was friendly. This was during the seasonal hiring time so I started working ASAP.
Scenario-based and behavioral questions. Many in relation to customers and management. I was asked a little bit about the public-facing descriptions in my resume; it was nothing too difficult. I felt confident that I got the job by the end.
