Me postulé a través de una recomendación de un empleado. El proceso tomó 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Udemy (San Francisco, CA)

I applied through employee referral.
First had a phone chat with a recruiter. The recruiter was pushy for salary details and gave me the impression that not revealing my salary might hurt my chances, which I'm pretty sure is illegal. Even after I revealed my current comp (which everyone tells me I shouldn't have done) she pushed for details regarding bonus, benefits, stock... etc. which I found rather strange. Keep in mind this was extremely early in the interview process, I hadn't even had my first technical screening yet.
Anyway, I gave the recruiter some times over the phone and she said she would confirm with me but never did. On Monday I received a call from an interviewer. Apparently the recruiter had scheduled a phone interview without telling me!!! She apologized and rescheduled.
Phone screen the next day was extremely hard, in depth debugging asynchronous mobile code. I did very badly and thought I failed, but they came back with a 2nd phone interview. I hear others only had 1 round of phone interviews, so I wonder if maybe they realized the question was too hard and wanted to try again.
Anyway, the second interviewer called me about 10 minutes late because apparently he had been waiting on a Google Hangout which was never sent to me!! AGAIN! I did average on the 2nd interview and received a rejection soon thereafter.
In any case, I found my recruiter to be extremely unprofessional. Messing up the scheduling twice in a row, the tactics she used etc (she acted like I was the only person EVER to refuse to give current comp, which is just BS or she isn't really a recruiter). I do want to note that this may not represent the rest of the company because I chatted with my friend who referred me, and his recruiter was appalled to hear my story. One of their Employee Success people also reached out to me to apologize and to let me know the behavior was not tolerated (altho they didn't change my recruiter after that...?). Overall not a good experience.

I applied through the Udemy website and Maggy, technical recruiter, reached out within 2 days. Very quick response. She quickly got a hold of me and set up a time for phone interview. The phone interview went very well, she went over the company culture and found out what I was looking for. We then had a in-person interview that was scheduled very quickly due to my time constraints in my schedule.
The follow week, I had the in-person interview with the iOS team and the CTO. They all went well as they asked you questions on brain teasers, algorithms, architecture, and iOS specific questions.
I got the results of my application within that night. Maggy did a great job in guiding me through the process and everything was done in less than 5 days. Overall, I wish other companies had this kind of interview process.
