I talked to the Marine Corps recruiter and asked for a job in a Communications. He fulfilled my request and wrote my contract for Field Radio Operator. He told me at that time that this job would be good for me after I get out of the military, and he was right. This Job taught how to work under pressure and other technical and soft skills that I could carry over into the civilian sector.
Go see a recruiter, they will give a list of all the information they need. Make sure to disclose all legal matters upfront. You also need paperwork on any medical issues.
