I was interviewed by a recruiter at UL Solutions based in Taiwan and the direct manager in Hong Kong through Zoom. The recruiter and manager were nice. We used Chinese, English, and Cantonese during the interview.
We covered my work experience and the basic duties of the role. The position is an on-site support role at their client's location.
The direct manager didn't know much about the situation at the client's site and might mainly rely on the client's feedback regarding performance. Simply put, the direct manager doesn't know exactly what the role is responsible for and what the role needs to do.
I think the job ad might have been a bit misleading by not mentioning that the role is a full time one-year contract position.
