I met with two women from upper management who had been with the company for multiple years. Both were very friendly and helpful during the interview, and told me I should hear back by the end of the following week. Upon the conclusion of the next week, I eagerly checked in with the company, and was told neither of the women were in the office so they would take a message for them to call me back.
After another week went by, I again tried to make contact with anyone who may know if the position had been filled and again, was told I would get a call back. After the third and final call with NO call back or email responses, I wasn't only upset that I (obviously) had not gotten the job, but the company had done such a poor job communicating back with me. Moral of the story, don't tell an applicant you will be in touch with them if you actually don't intend to do anything of the sort.
