I was invited to a chat with the company's recruiter. It was obvious they didn't have a translation pool in place and that anything TMS related was unknown to them - however that could have been an interesting project to take on. I was then asked to perform a test. I had warned them that asking a native speaker to translate into another language was not ethical - especially since no one was reviewing the final content before publication. I mentioned the ISO and translators' association guidelines, to no avail it seems, as they replied (after receiving my test) that they didn't see it as a requirement.
