Initially, I had a phone call with basic questions going over my education and work experience (explaining why you chose your major, going through previous duties in prior positions). They went over the benefits of working there and really sold the company. Then you were able to ask any questions you had.
An in office interview was next where I met with 3 people. All three were very friendly and it was extremely casual. They showed me around the office, which was a very spacious and laid back environment.

If a waiter brought you a well done steak, but you asked for medium rare, how would you react?
If you had to get rid of a state, which one would it be?

I was referred by an employee, but went through 2 rounds of phone interviews with 3 different people. Most of it was covering a lot of the daily responsibilities of the job, how much customer-relations experience I have, and how comfortable I am on the phone.
The biggest thing that drew me to them was how happy everyone seemed to work there. Every person I spoke to seemed very enthusiastic about the corporate culture and the other people they got to work with on a daily basis.
Also, the benefits are pretty great - in addition to the standard health care and 401K, they do 50% trip matches, some commuting expense reimbursement, fitness reimbursement, and some additional travel reimbursements as long as you do some of your research on TripAdvisor.
In the end, though, they said that they were looking for someone who has more experience in the hospitality industry.

Nothing out of the ordinary that I can recall. A lot of standard questions and the good old, "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?"

I had a phone interview which lasted about 20 minutes. A week or so later, I was emailed to come in for an in-person interview. During this interview I met with three different FlipKey employees/managers. After the initial in-person interview, I was emailed to do a few writing samples. I was then asked to come in for a 2nd in-person interview, in which I met with the same three people. About two weeks later, I was given an offer over the phone.

I had a first interview at the beginning of August. This eventually led to 2 more phone interviews and then an in-office interview with 3 people in mid September. The process took a lot longer than expected. After my in-office interview they told me I would hear back that next week and if I did not then I should email them ASAP. I did so and they (again) postponed until the next week. I was then informed that I did not get the offer. Keeping someone waiting that long is unprofessional.
