I called the salon and spoke to the Salon Manager who was very professional and friendly. The stylist that work here are booth renters that hire and pay their assistants, if any. I met with a stylist that was looking for an assistant. She took one look at me and decided not to move forward with my candidacy and informed the Salon Manager to defer me to another stylist. The rationale was that she requires someone to assist her for two years until she felt I was ready to be a stylist. She went to a really good school and completed two years assisting which she feels should be standard.
