HR provides your resume to the hiring manager of the department, and they will schedule a pre-screening phone call for about 15-20 minutes telling you about the job. If you have any questions, you ask them about it in the phone call. Then, they invite you to an in-person interview with the team and the hiring manager for a "vibe check". If the team doesn't like you, you will not proceed further.

I went through a three stage interviewing process. That included a screening interview with an internal recruiter, a peer interview with two people, and a final interview with the hiring manager.

The manager was not personable. Didn’t really make eye contact. She was responding to messages the whole time. I’m not sure she was actually listening. I think she had her mind made up before the interview started. It was one of the most uncomfortable interviews I’ve ever had.
