1) Recruiter Screen
2) Interview with Hiring Manager (talk about past projects, and company/team fit)
3) Take Home Assignment
4) Meet with Hiring Manager and Engineer to discuss Take Home and make small edits
5) Casual meet and greet with team, and co-founder
Practical take home assignment involving Django and Vue, basically making an API to convert numbers to their english word equivalent, and display the results on the frontend. No leetcode. In the follow up interview, I was asked to fix any bugs and add a small followup feature. The interview process seemed to be going well until I met the co-founder, who was arrogant and was defensive when asked tough questions about the company like financial status and competitors. When asked these questions, the co-founder remarked that I "shouldn't ask questions like this in an interview setting", and yet I've asked identical questions to other higher ups and founders of other start up companies, and they've been willing to answer them without any issues or defensive attitude. Later that day, my remaining interview with the CTO was cancelled without an explanation, and I had to email my recruiter only to be informed they went with another candidate. Overall, this left a poor impression, especially after such a long interview process, I'd hoped to be treated with more respect. I'd steer clear of this company if I were you.
