I had my first interview with a recruiter virtually and answered a few basic questions. My second virtual interview was with the direct report of the position which I thought went well. I was told I could expect to hear back the following week in regards to next steps. However, I did not receive any responses to my thank you emails or follow up emails from either interviewers, until 2 weeks later when I received an email from a no-reply email with a short message that they were pursuing other candidates. I would have loved to receive feedback on what improvements I could have made in my interview or application, but also no response to my inquiry on that. The rejection felt very impersonal, which was disappointing since I spent a lot of time tailoring my resume, cover letter, and preparing for the interviews for a position and company I was very excited about.
