Friendly interviewers that reflects their work and communication style. Never had an interview this pleasant when applying for jobs. Most recruiters I've met are robotic and the conversation didn't feel natural. Interviews at TransPerfect however, was almost like a lunch break chats at a coffee shop. They were focused on assessing cultural and work style compatibility, past achievements, and probably my communication style as well.

There was an initial phone screen followed by 3 additional rounds of video interviews with 5 additional people. The phone screen was with an intern, and then there was meetings with 2 members of the recruitment team based in NYC, followed by meetings with the 2 members special projects team based in NYC, followed by a meeting with anther member of the recruitment team based in Miami. The entire process, including the checking of my references, was overseen by an INTERN, who clearly had no control over the process or understanding of how an interview process should be run. I had to continuously follow up for updates and nearly everyone I met with seemed incredibly uninterested in their work or seemed to have no idea what they were actually talking about. It was all INCREDIBLY unprofessional. One of the most senior women on the special projects team that I met with spent most of my interview talking about how previous employees didn't like to work hard and that's why she left. She complained about how they would leave TransPerfect poor Glassdoor reviews when they left. As of today, it looks like TransPerfect has a rating of 2.9. YIKES. My advice for the hiring team: learn how to conduct an interview in a professional manner. It is SHOCKING to me that you all work in recruitment/project management. Also, maybe don't have an intern handle your hiring process... The interview process was spread out across about 8 weeks and I never heard anything additional following all these rounds of interviews, having my references checked, etc., despite following up with said intern multiple times. Based on the Glassdoor reviews from current/past employees, it seems that this interview process is reflective of what the working environment/culture at TransPerfect. My advice to prospective employees based on my interview experience: don't waste your time. Your time and effort will not be respected and these folks are incredibly unprofessional.
