The person scheduling the interview scheduled it for Wednesday when we were talking about “tomorrow” for the interview. The day of the call was Monday which means the interview should have been Tuesday. I show up 20 mins early for the interview and introduce myself to management. They tell me to walk the market and they will find me. 25 mins after the interview was scheduled someone comes and gets me. The guy said there is supposed to be another girl but he can’t find her. They begin asking me odd questions such as what do I like about the grocery store. What I did for my last job. How I interviewed people. Then proceeded to tell me the job times and mentioned that the boxes of potato’s are very heavy. After that they asked if I had any questions. It’s an entry level job that I am over qualified for. The interview should be about personal skills/traits that can be utilized for a great atmosphere. Also laying out the appropriate expectations. Stocking, facing products, checking back stock, assisting customers be it finding items or carrying items to their vehicles. It’s all a very simple an easy job. Outstanding customer service such as a friendly/charismatic personality and ambitious go getter would be the qualities that would make a great candidate. I was told they would email me with the results within 4 days. After giving 5 business days I went to the location to check in. They apparently could not find the paperwork. After searching 10 mins the Mate said I wasn’t chosen. When I checked jobs a day later I saw a new job post for the position. The pay had been dropped from $22-$28 to $18-$22. I love Trader Joe’s however this hiring process was a disorganized mess.

It's two to three interviews, the final with the Captain (or highest manager) of the store. The interviews are largely to get to know your personality and how well you would do at customer service.
The interview process was absolutely wonderful! I didn't feel stressed or nervous and it felt like I was just chatting with a friend! Trader Joes is a great company and the interview was great.

Very chill, asked things a lot of job interviews don't, more personal down to earth questions. Made me feel very comfortable. Professional but also cool vibes from everyone who interviewed me. Went to one interview with mates and another with the captain.
