I had one of those useless phone screener interviews where the recruiter reads your resume back to you (is that Human Resources people just creating work for themselves because they otherwise would get laid off because there isn't enough to do?). The recruiter was nice, but somehow dragged up an old resume of mine in their system (why they hold onto old resumes must be an obscure legal reason) and couldn't find my new one, so he was confused that I hadn't worked in years. I felt like I was in a scene from the novel Edna's Employment Agency. Once we sorted that out, he wanted me to email him an updated resume. I did and never heard from him again. I didn't follow up because the place sounded like a burn and churn.
