      Entrevista para Sales Representative

Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 2 meses. Acudí a una entrevista en Total Quality Logistics (Nashville, TN) en abr 2018

      Entrevista

The process is WAY too long and my biggest issue is that they give you a specific start date instead of 2 weeks from your hire date. It started with an online application and took them about a week to hear from them. Then I was given a pre-screening to determine the potential for the first interview. I passed through it and went on to the first interview, which was a 5 minute sales pitch selling anything of your choice and a few more questions about your work history. I went through to the second interview, where I was told to wear business professional attire. Come to find out, everyone is VERY casual in baseball caps, tennis shoes, jeans, and t-shirts. The women also in comfy blouses and jeans. Not that I would show up to an interview that casual, but it definitely had me feeling out of place. The second interview includes taking 4 tests. None of them were hard, and they give you a short study guide in advance. I went and passed 3 of 4, and I was just shy of passing it, but was allowed to return the next day to retake it and I passed it. After passing the tests, I shadowed a current sales rep and had an interview with the recruiter. I was called back in one more time for an interview with the manager. I ended up being hit with 3 people instead of one, but that was no problem. One was in training, the other was a different type of manager. THIS JOB IS MOSTLY COLD CALLING. It’s your job to call out to people and generate business, and everyone I talked to in power seemed to use the negativity that can be received as some kind of scare tactic. It was also stated many times that it required persistence. The interview process was way too long and had way too many other people involved. They required you provide four references with phone number and emails so they could send them all online surveys to do on you and if this were for a non-entry level position, I’d understand, but this felt like overkill. I sent them in anyway and had all of them check their emails to complete them. My negative outlook comes from that and the fact that my job, as most jobs do, needed two weeks notice and since I was given a potential start date and all seemed well I let my boss know about the chance. By this point, my 3rd interview was exactly two weeks to the start date. I was told that I would hear by the end of the week of the interview and I was not informed of their decision to “go with someone more qualified”, until one day before my 2 weeks was up, leaving me with no time to recover. Keeping in mind, they put you through a 22 week training, before you start building your own book of business. 5 months is more than enough time to become qualified. They were also trying to fill an ENTIRELY new floor as well as desks on the current floor, so number of positions available wasn’t a problem. It was too late, and I had already been replaced by my boss who had to keep his own business going. I felt incredibly blindsided by this company and very angry for the lack of communication, especially when I was 100% open with them from the very beginning and how much warning I’d need. Thanks to this, it left me completely jobless until further notice. I made a mistake, sure, but keep all of this in mind when making your decision to apply. It isn’t fair to the candidates or their employers to drop a quitting date on a dime.

Interviewer asked me extremely inappropriate questions, not job related, regarding family life and personal experiences. The people I saw who worked there did not seem happy. Worst interview ever, would never recommend.

Several rounds of interviews. Repeated communication from recruiter, but lack of devotion by actual manager at the site. They are very strict about dress code, even though they do not follow it themselves. It is daily contact from the recruitment, not only that they sent benefits , test, material, and study and material for the position itself. They even make you do job shadowing for two hours as well. This is all before you’re even given the final interview. I would not recommend this to anyone.

I was selected for a phone interview and, as part of the process, was asked to complete training materials to learn more about the role. During this stage, the structure of the position began to resemble a MLM style approach, which ultimately did not align with what I was looking for. I chose not to move forward and accepted a different opportunity. The interviewer was pleasant, easy to speak with, and professional throughout the interaction. However, the overall impression of the work environment seemed heavily geared toward a younger audience, with a strong emphasis on social activities. It gave the impression of a culture that prioritizes a social atmosphere over professional development.
