      Entrevista para Finance Associate

      8 ene 2019
      Candidato de entrevista anónimo
      Boston, MA
      Sin ofertas
      Experiencia negativa
      Entrevista difícil

      Solicitud

Me postulé a través de un reclutador. El proceso tomó 1 semana. Acudí a una entrevista en Toast Inc (Boston, MA) en oct 2018

      Entrevista

The process started with two phone screenings with HR and hiring manager. Both screenings essentially involved them getting me to explain why I deserved to work at Toast. Very little discussion on my actual abilities or background. Both phone calls were a total waste of my time, as they were supposed to determine if I had the background sufficient for the job, which was eventual the reason they told me (or the told the recruiter rather) I would not continue with the process; but only after first making me complete a 6-10 hour case study. After completing said case study (which they asked me to spend 6 hours on mind you and it was probably closer to 10 hours), I got a one sentence response as feedback, which dismissed me as a candidate. To reiterate they asked me to spend 6 hours on an extensive and complex case study (while providing absolutely no background other than the directions provided) that culminated in a powerpoint presentation and complete set of pro forma financial statements and all they provided in terms of feedback was ONE sentence, which was relayed via a recruiter. The comment did not even touch on the deliverable required, but a miscalculation on one of the many side calculations requested of me. They clearly have absolutely no regard for their candidates time or efforts and displayed a lack of professionalism I have never seen in my 7+ years as a working professional. Not to mention, during my phone screenings were it appeared as if I suppose to grovel at the opportunity to work at Toast, the employees I spoke with showed an elitist attitude, comparing themselves to the Googles and Apples of the world that completely contradicted the entire ethos the company boosts publicly. Warning to all candidates before spending your time and effort on getting a job at Toast, STAY AWAY. The entire process I experienced was nothing short of abhorrent and I would hate for them to take advantage of other prospective candidates the way they took advantage of me.

Wow, I'm genuinely sorry that you left our interview process feeling this way. We take our core values very seriously, and I'm honestly appalled about what you've described. We have a great respect for all candidates and the time that they invest in our hiring process. I'm sorry that this experience made you feel otherwise. If you're up for it, I would love to have a conversation to better understand what transgressed and how we can make this right. I can be reached at mike.brown@toasttab.com. I hope to hear from you. - Mike Brown, VP Talent
