      Unfortunately, my experience was in line with the experiences of others who have provided feedback about their interviews for this role. My initial recruitment contact who screened me was lovely and I felt we had a strong rapport. He moved me to the video interview stage and told me to be prepared for a behavioral interview and to review company resources ahead of time. The actual interview was anything but behavioral. The interviewer was impersonal, difficult to understand, and spent the entire 45 minute grilling me on my metrics. Although performance metrics are an important factor of any position, I did not have the opportunity to share any information about myself or my interest in TikTok. The interview was one question after another about metrics. No questions about candidate experience or any other vital components of a successful recruiting model. Ironically, when I asked the interviewer about the metrics for this role, she said that she wasn't sure what the expectation would be. Also, with this being a 90 day contract position, I asked how the team would make a decision about whether to extend someone's contract. She couldn't provide a clear answer on that either. I write this not as a disgruntled candidate, but as someone who had a sincere desire to join TikTok and was incredibly disappointed by their lack of focus on candidate experience.

      1st call with a Recruiter 4 Recruiter: ~15 minute call that asked basic questions to get a feel of my previous experience. 2nd call with the Hiring Manager from Tik Tok: half hour call and went in depth about things on my resume. I actually had time to describe my process and the interviewer was engaging enough. I was able to ask questions and got a feel about the team and culture over at Tik Tok's SJ office. 3rd call was a video chat with another manager on the team. The interviewer asked me specific questions on my resume and gave me a couple of situational questions. Interviewer wanted me to go in depth about my sourcing techniques which was weird because it felt like they were only trying to get this information out of me. Overall the conversation went pretty well and they informed me about next steps. However after this they completely ghosted me. They use an external contracted recruiting coordinator that does not reply sometimes. Terrible.

      Was chaotic and felt disorganized. Little communication around role and expectations. While the team was friendly, I felt they were stressed and uninvolved. Was not something I cared to follow-up with.
