I was put in touch with the company through a recruiting company. I had an initial phone screen of about 45 minutes that asked some basic HBase administration questions, and then went through a lengthy talk about the company. A week later I came in for an on-site interview that consisted of 3 individual interviews with members from the team. I was asked a series of vague questions that seemed to be geared towards having me talk as much as possible about my experience at my previous companies. One team member had lunch with me. Overall it was a very non-technical interview, with the exception of a few pointed questions at problems they were currently having with disk space.
