First I spoke with the recruiter, who seemed very knowledgeable about the position and company. An interview was setup with a senior leader, which also went well. The recruiter then sent me an analysis test that was not so much difficult as it was time consuming (I coded and developed an app, then provided the analysis in presentation style as requested). In total about 5 hours. That's when it went silent. About 5 days later, the recruiter said they have been busy and admitted they hadn't even looked at the test. The next day he said "oh yea, we looked at your results, we went with someone else". No additional feedback. I would say if you proceed with this company, do not put in more than an hour for that "test". Thumbtack is not valuing your time here. To Thumbtack, I would say please do not waste the time of some other poor souls to gauge skills until you are literally about to offer a position. That should be the very last step-these folks are candidates talking to multiple companies and trying to get work, and working hard to interview. (I know you will leave the canned "thank you for your feedback", but if I can help at least one other person, this will have served it's purpose)
