Entrevista
After initially applying for the job online, I was invited for a phone interview. The phone interview was very relaxed and asked the same basic Fit/Competency questions as many others posted on here such as "How did you find the transition from A levels to University" etc. Was invited to a face-to-face interview at the London offices at the end of the call.
At the face-to-face interview, I had two interviews with two members of staff. The first two were both team leaders for different teams dealing with private equities and this was followed by an interview with the head of operations and another team leader. All were very friendly and welcoming at interview. I had a short case study which was about a Private Equity firm looking to invest in a company which manufactures safety vests and I was asked what considerations would have to be made and who I would connect the firm with. As long as you demonstrate some commercial awareness you should be fine here. I employed a structure around Porter's Five Forces i.e. Competition, Substitutes, Buyers, Suppliers, Barriers but only used it as a framework by which to conduct my analysis.
Ultimately I don't think I got the job because I didn't demonstrate strong enough my customer service capabilities and provided fairly diluted, wishy-washy answers to questions like "Name a time when you made a mistake and how did you deal with it?" and "What was the worst customer service you've ever experienced and why do you think it was so bad?". The feedback from the recruiter coincided with this belief.
All in all, the process was very easy and straight forward with minimal stress. They seem to get through a lot of applications and have intakes throughout the year which makes the interviewers well rehearsed and the process as a whole very well oiled.

2 rounds. First round talk with senior research analyst, behavioral questions. Second round talk with team head, stock pitch, case study. Long discussion, taking around 90 minutes, asking everything in the cv

Dont let them trick you into thinking this is an actual research position. You will be cold calling people most of your day. The interview process is relatively simple, first spoke with a recruiter who passed me onto an in-person round. I never heard from them after that.

Given this case industry, what types of industry experts would you contact on behalf of a client who is looking to invest in a company within that sector.
Had an interview for Forum role in Hongkong. Straightforward interview. The recruiter was very pleasant and nice, she was very professional. Prepare for your understanding of the role, although she was very nice in explaining the role in details, you knew it’s a major concern if you have no idea about the position youre applying. She also provides transparent feedback which I really appreciates. Not all companies or recruiters do the same. I always see this recruiter in job fairs and she’s overall nice and very accommodating. I would recommend trying an interview as it will change your perspective about the company and the role.
