The interview process included a structured technical presentation of my prior research to evaluate alignment with the advertised position and to assess the depth of subject-matter knowledge relevant to the project objectives. This was followed by a discussion focused on fundamental concepts underlying the presented work, aimed at evaluating conceptual clarity and the ability to explain core principles and mechanisms. In addition, the interviewer introduced case-based scenarios related to the project scope to assess the candidate’s analytical approach, problem-solving strategy, and reasoning under open-ended conditions. These scenarios were designed to evaluate how scientific challenges are framed, how assumptions and constraints are identified, and how potential solution pathways are developed, rather than to elicit a single correct answer. Overall, the interview emphasized research alignment, foundational understanding, and thought process, with particular attention to the candidate’s ability to translate prior experience into the context of the proposed project and to approach complex technical problems in a systematic and independent manner.
