I was contacted out of the blue by a Cigna recruiter in early November 2021 via LinkedIn. After an initial screening interview with this same recruiter, I interviewed with the hiring manager a couple weeks later. That went well and I progressed to interview with a direct report of the hiring manager. I had several options at the time so I used this process as practice, but didn't really like the sense of entitlement from the hiring manager or her direct report.
They both used a lot of buzzwords, but didn't seem to really understand what they "needed" and certainly didn't understand how to ask for whatever they supposedly "needed." The environment seemed very rigid and uber-corporate. The position was also vacated by someone else in a relatively short period, and it was difficult to get the context surrounding the previous person's departure.
