The Interview process was very well organized. I had to fly in from out of state. I had to interview with 3 managers and the technical questions were detailed and were relevant to my field of work. They had to file a Visa and the HR group had a very good idea of the workings of the INS (Immigration and Naturalization Services as it was known then.

CIGNA tends to take a long time to hire employees. I believe that is because the background check takes a long time, so don't loose hope about landing the job if you feel like you've impressed the interviewer. CIGNA tends to ask questions to see if you will be a good behavioral match for the job role you are posting for. Every position I've had with CIGNA involved interview questions about my strengths, weaknesses, past problem resolution and future carrer goals. Be prepared to answer these questions, and to give an honest and, if possible, surprising answer. I've also conducted quite a few interviews for CIGNA, and one of the key differentiators is the candidate's ability to stand out.
CIGNA is a very diverse company, so it is a good idea to emphasize your comfort working in a diverse and respectful environment. As a company, CIGNA can feel very compartmentalized, so be sure to ask questions about the job you are interviewing for so that you are sure to understand the job. An application development position in one department is not the same job as an application development position in another department.
During the interview process, you'll find that the interviewers are generally unable to provide you with details about the salary and bonus for the job. See additional details on this topic in the negotiation phase.
Other details: The best place to find a job with CIGNA is thier website (www. cigna.com); CIGNA rarely posts jobs in a newspaper. Typically candidates are contacted by phone first for a brief screening, and if they pass the screening they are brought in-office for an interview. It is not uncommon for second-round inteviews with more senior staff members.
