Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 1 día. Acudí a una entrevista en The Buckle (Kennesaw, GA) en jun 2009

      Entrevista

Last year a couple of guys came to my school who were from Buckle. I met them, but because their internship pay was so low (like 7 bucks an hour) I very politely declined... Now, a year later I need a full time gig that pays pretty good in a company that is somewhat in fashion and will allow me to grow- so I thought of Buckle and their manager program ( a step above intern). I learned that after a year in the program you become as assistant manager then manager.... So I go online to apply for The Buckle.... after filling out ALL the information I take this test, that is "heavily taken into consideration" on whether or not you get chosen for an interview. A few minutes after I take the personality test I get an email saying I was chosen for the interview so please call the store to schedule an interview. So I called and scheduled it. As taught in college I studied for the interview, I googled information on the company and their hiring process, got sample questions, learned the company history etc etc. I prepared for it- I was soooo ready. Then I go in for the interview and the guy was completely unready as if he had NO idea I was coming, actually i don;t think he knew I was coming. He scrambled to find my information, I waited a few minutes, then literally pulled aside in the store (near the jeans) to interview me. He asked me very basic questions: "My previous job history" "What college I went to" Then: "Name one major accomplishment I'm proud of" "What other jobs have I applied for" Then he asked if I had any questions for him. I asked a few questions. I gave him my resume (I should have gave it to him at the beginning because then maybe he would have had more focused questions). I don't know... it was just all too weird, I felt completely overdressed even though I had on jeans, boots, and a cardigan. They all had on sneakers, jeans, and quite frankly looked like they were going to the beach. And there were alot of employees in the store for it to be so small and a "down retail day" (but maybe they were stocking new merchandise). The interview was very causal and I was over prepared and a bit rushed... it went okay, I just wish we would have went to the office or something, not just there in front of every employee. He told me that he would have to talk it over with some the other employees and he would let me know within 48 hrs. To some people that type of interview would be great, but for me-- since I drove an hour to get there and had a hard time finding it and obsessed on what to wear and studied questions and company history it was not what I wanted... it lasted no more than 6 minutes and I didn't get to display my knowledge or talk about what I could give/offer to the company. I felt... cheated (lol, sounds funny but true). Advice:? hmmm, well, like some people said (on other sites about the company) be as friendly and smiley as possible. Though I felt overdressed in my dark denim jeans and cardigan I feel it was appropriate. You should definitely wear nice denim jeans, preferably dark and everything else is up to you... and BRING your resume to give them because they may not be prepared.
