Was contacted by DM for new store opening and had a zoom interview. Questions were not direct behavioral questions, more about hospitality and leadership style. I thought it went well, good conversation. Was given a timeframe when I asked about when store was opening/ what was target hire date. I sent an thank you note indicating my appreciation/ interest. I never heard back with any updates, a month later job is closed. I realize the company is in growth mode and apparently doesn't use company recruiters. And maybe their hiring platform doesn't have an automatic way to disposition candidates but for a company all about hospitality and service my feedback is to start with your hiring process. You are new to market and I had a good impression of your brand that is now not so great. Ghosting candidates whether manager level or stock associates is poor form.

Applied for position and received a generic email from who I assume was the District/Regional Manager, although no introduction was ever given, to arrange an interview when she would be in town the following week. After a couple back and forth emails we set the time for Wednesday at 12pm. The manager alerted me that she was on Pacific Time so her calendar may show 11am, but would meet at 12pm Mountain Time. On the day of the interview I arrived to the store a few minutes early and was told the manager had stepped into the mall on another interview but would be back soon. After waiting over twenty five minutes with no communication, and the manager never arriving, I eventually left without the interview being conducted. The lack of professionalism and timeliness speaks to how this person operates their stores and affirmed my decision to walk away.
