The interview mainly focused on basic technical and HR questions, nothing too difficult. On the technical side, they asked me fundamental concepts from heat transfer, thermodynamics, and simple gear mechanisms—mostly conceptual stuff rather than heavy numericals. It was more about checking clarity of basics than testing advanced problem-solving. Overall, the technical round felt quite straightforward. The HR part was also super easy. They asked general questions about my background, projects, how I handle teamwork, and why I’m interested in the role. The vibe was friendly and conversational, and the questions were mostly to understand my personality and how I fit in.

They started by asking questions from my vocational training which I had done during summer break of my 2nd year of college, which I had done on maintenance of wagons. They asked basic questions such as no. of wagons in a train, weight of wagon, speed etc. They asked to draw profile of tyre, asked types of wear, how train turns without differential etc. Then asked for favourite subject, I said fluid mechanics. Asked basic questions regarding practical applications of continuity equation. Then asked some fluid machinery questions. After that HR asked what qualities do you possess? Asked meaning of leadership. Leadership = Leader+ship, how these individual words come together to give it meaning?
