Me postulé a través de otra fuente. El proceso tomó 1 día. Acudí a una entrevista en Tata Consultancy Services (Vadodara) en jul 2013

      Entrevista

It alway feels good when you walk into India's 1st ranked company. Your expectations are very high. You think everything would be in best of situation and standardized processes would be followed. I recently gave my interview at TCS Vadodara. I walked in on a Tuesday at 11. 30 which was well within the given time for interview. I was cleared by security and phones were taken away for security reason. I reached inside and found around 36-40 candidate sitting in the room and awaiting instruction on how to begin further. After 15 minutes, a HR personnel came up and started giving instruction to us. He mentioned about night shift and few of the candidate went out, he mentioned about BE ME BTech MTech MCA will not be allow and those candidate went out. He addded the reason for not taking them is because they have a sister concern company called BPO ITes which hires TECHINICAL PERSONNEL for their work which didnot make sense to me as I thought, if someone is has a technical degree but management experience he will be not consider in VADODARA just because he has a technical degree. What if they donot wish to work in a technical firm and want to get into research and analysis or management or client services or any other line however TCS will not take them just because they have a technical degree. How stupid is that. To clarify, I am a BCA graduate and a MBA pass out with 3+ years in Client services and Project Implementation. I have NO professional experience in technical line which made me inquire if I would be qualified for test or not and he said that your last qualification is MBA and you should be fine. You are qualified and can give the test. Couple of candidate inquired about CA and ICFA and other qualification and he informed that he didnot mind them taking the test however their expectation will not match as per their qualification. We were given the test paper and were allotted time of 45 minutes to complete the test. I did complete in time and submitted it back. There were only 3 people taking test for KPO. I had completed the same around 2.30 PM. We were given the break for 30 minutes and asked to be back at 3. All the candidates from other batch were also called on the same time. Results were not out until 4.30 and then the interview started. I was called in for a interview by a lady and asked to follow her in the next room. I went in and sat after taking permission. That is when she gave me a shocker. She informed me that from YESTERDAY we have a amendment added to recruitment that we wont be taking people with technical degree. I asked her that I have technical degree however my latest degree is a MBA which is non technical. She answered that even a technical degree in graduation is not allowed now. I informed her stating that I had confirmed before sitting in recruitment process about my situation and I was given a GREEN light by one of the HR person. She bluntly replied that HE MIGHT HAVE NOT BEEN AWARE. I didnot know what to say. I was shocked that a company like TCS given this kind of answer and on top of that She didnot even apologize for the goof up. That is shameless. I came out and met another candidate and he was rejected because he has too much of experience and they were taking people with just 0 to 4 years of exp which by the way was not at all mentioned in the ad that we had read. I am not writing this because I am frustrated but I am more DISAPPOINTED by the process. I thought the no 1 company would have things organized and structured which seems they were not. If the management donot address such small concerns than they might be loosing good candidates. 1. why cannot a person with technical degree work in a non technical process?? Is it not his choice? 2. With your currently policy - candidate with technical qualification will have to relocate from their home town to join in gandhinagar which will increase in your cost as they might be asking for relocation package? 3. Why are the criteria not fixed from earlier and if they are, why are your ALL HR personnel not informed about the same? Waste of time for your team and the candidate. The good will of the company is lost due to such unjustifiable experience.

It’s a 2-round interview: Technical and HR. For the technical round, keep your skills updated and have a strong understanding of everything mentioned in your resume. If you clear the technical round, the HR round is usually easier. They mainly expect good communication skills and want to see how confidently you communicate during the HR round
