Initial communication was via email with the HR department to schedule a phone interview. After briefly going over my employment history, a follow up phone interview was scheduled with a marketing representative. I was then scheduled for an on-site interview at the Seattle office a few weeks later. The on-site interview was with seven individuals from separate departments within the company, but primarily on the marketing side. They were 30 minutes apiece in a conference room, back to back. Before each interview I was asked if I needed any water or coffee, which was very polite of them. Unfortunately, several of the interviews seemed to be more personality based and not experience based. "Would this person fit-in?" type questions. Thirty minute interviews also tended to leave little time at the end for follow-up questions and clarifications. A couple of the interviewers were a little fidgety, took very few notes, and seemed to lack interviewing experience. I would estimate that 75% of the questions were marketing based and not technically based, which made me wonder why they were looking for an analytic background and not a communications or marketing degree.
