About 3 days after I had applied online, I received an email and asked if I were available to come in on a particular day. I replied with my availability about a day later and it took 2 days to get back to me. Upon arriving, I asked for the interviewer and had to wait a short period before sitting down with him. He asked if I had ever tried any sort of VR experience, I said no, and he actually had me run through 2 different experiences to get the gist of it. After I was done, I sat down with the interviewer again and had an incredibly brief 1:1 with him. He only asked 3 questions, one of which was if I had any questions. When I began to ask questions, he quickly became defensive and almost paranoid of what I was asking, which left me with a very negative experience, as this was the first time anyone has ever outright declined to answer my questions. This did seem to line up with some of the things that were mentioned in reviews on both Glassdoor and Indeed, where it was often highlighted that the company was looking for people who just wanted to work, rather than someone who was interested in really getting to know the company and have a higher-level knowledge about the industry. It very much felt like he was simply trying to sell me onto the product so that I could sell it. Overall, while it's cool technology and the company apparently does offer benefits upfront, only for full-timers I believe, it seems that employees at a certain level aren't interested in selecting talent, but instead just people to keep the business running.
