I had a recruiter call and met with the hiring manager. My initial recruiter conversation was great, she was warm, friendly and asked good questions about my background. She asked a few behavioral questions as well.
The hiring manager interview didn't go as well. I suspect she was looking for a different background which is okay, but what bothered me is she questioned my ability to travel etc. due to family and children at home. Sounds like open discrimination to me,
After the interview the recruiter responded initially with vague timing expectations for an update, but eventually completely ghosted me and I never received a formal rejection. It's been several months now and never got closure on this. Overall, this process was disappointing, unprofessional, and discriminatory. After time and energy invested into this process, the least they can do is respect their candidates by providing status whether positive of negative. The lack of respect and care shown toward candidates doesn't bode well for what it's like actually working for this company.
