I'll start by giving kudos to Synchrony for posting real jobs that they intend to fill. This is actually anomalous in the current landscape (I suspect that 7 out of every 10 postings by Citi are fake). That said, their process is amateur-ish. You have recruiters who specialize in ghosting and hiring managers that don't have a concrete sense for what they're looking for. In one instance, I had a hiring manager start asking about very different skills that weren't even mentioned in the job description - from investor relations ish to SQL and SAS. It felt like the role was being constructed on the fly.
