I was told I would have a phone interview at 10 30. It was past 10 30 and had still received no call. I checked my emails and had received an email at the time my interview was meant to start if I can reschedule for later in the day. I found this quite unprofessional and not being considerate of my own time. I understand interviews may need to change but you should know this well before the interview.
I replied immediately and said it was fine and what time that afternoon did they want to do. I was expecting a response right away but they didn't bother to reply until 3 and a half hours later, asking if I'm available in an hour. No apology or explanation, just take for granted other peoples time.
When the interview FINALLY went ahead, she asked if I had my own laptop I said yes. She then asked if I had my own monitor, I said I didn't and queried why the company wouldn't provide this? I have worked for much more smaller insurance companies who have supplied everything from laptops to chairs to help their staff. This was the final red flag.
The fact that the interviewer had no respect for my time and offered no apology worried me. If that was how they treated me in the interview, then how would they treat me when I worked for them?? And the fact a compa such an AAMI can't even shell out for a few monitors is very telling of how much they value their employees. I did not proceed with their interview process.
