Thank you for sharing this feedback. We strive to provide candidates with a professional, efficient, and effective application and interview process. I am sorry to hear your experience with the interview process was not better. I want to respond to a couple of the concerns you noted: 1) We take pride in being an equal opportunity employer and have a fantastic team of tutors with diverse backgrounds, identities, and experiences. You can view the profiles of our tutors on our PrepNow website (StudyPoint’s online tutoring brand) - http://prepnow.com/our-tutoring-staff/ and 2) The families we work with understandably have very high expectations of their tutors, so part of our interview process is ensuring that candidates have a high level of knowledge and comfort with the material that the SAT and ACT cover. The math, especially, can be tricky since many candidates do not use those types of math concepts in their daily lives and careers and may not have studied those concepts since they took those courses themselves. Candidates who may need to do a lot of review or brushing up on material before starting to work with students may not be a good fit for this role. In situations where candidates struggle to explain one or more of the standard interview questions that are provided ahead of time, interviewers may ask follow up questions to get a better sense of their comfort with the material. Additionally, since there are times when tutoring that a tutor and their student will need to work through practice items the tutor has not seen previously, this approach also mimics the actual tutoring dynamic. All of that being said, we want the application and interview process to be a positive experience for candidates. Since it was not for you, that means we can continue to work on making it better. I will share your feedback with our team so we can take it into consideration for future changes.
Best,
