      Entrevista

Final-stage case presentation, then ghosted! I went through three interview stages for an Ecommerce Website Experience Designer role: HR, hiring manager, and a final case presentation with senior stakeholders. The case asked candidates to improve the Tripp Trapp ecommerce journey within less than a week. I received the assignment around midday on 8 April and presented it on the afternoon of 14 April. Since I was also working full-time, the turnaround felt tight. Beyond the core assignment itself, I chose to make the case more evidence-based by adding additional UX review, external user research, prototype work, supporting materials, and presentation assets. The external user research alone cost around €150. This was my own choice, but it makes the lack of basic follow-up even more disappointing. Altogether, I spent at least three full days of work on the case, including the weekend. I presented on 14 April and was told during the interview that results would be shared the following week. I followed up on 1 May. By 26 May, over six weeks after the presentation, I still had no response or status update. The final presentation also felt poorly aligned with the original brief. The hiring manager who gave the assignment was not present, and the discussion focused heavily on topics that were not clearly framed as the main scope of the case. For a final-stage process with this level of candidate work, the lack of follow-up was disappointing and unprofessional. The process asked for a high level of candidate effort but did not provide the same level of clarity, consistency, or communication in return. I would advise candidates to clarify the case scope, who will evaluate it, and when feedback will actually be shared before investing significant time or money.

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

How would the proposed journey handle optional accessories and upsell opportunities? This became a major focus in the final discussion, even though the original case brief was framed around improving discovery and conversion in the Tripp Trapp journey.
