Screening call followed by a case study and 90 minute online assessment. The case study took a lot of time and the 90 minute criteriacorp test was stressful and unnecessary (it did not test design skills). They sent a standard no-reply rejection email. No designer wants to actually design presentations for a living and yet they put candidates through hell just to get to stage 2 of the interview. They're not google or apple, the pay is on the lower end and the job is not prestigious in fact it limits your future career. I wonder how many candidates they screened before asking us to waste hours on an entitled assessment to see if we were good enough. Meanwhile on their site they showcase the type of presentations where someone's put a 70% transparent gradient over a picture of high rise buildings in the background of every slide or used the most obvious stock image of a smiling office worker beside some sans serif text. I'm mad at myself for investing time into trying to please a company of this caliber.

It started with a screening call, followed by a PowerPoint design test and a 90-minute assessment covering math, memory, logic, and personality, where none of them were relevant to design. After all that, I received a generic rejection email. At first, I questioned myself whether I just wasn’t qualified, but after reading other reviews here, I know I’m not alone and my instincts were right. The most frustrating part is that the design work on their site is pretty basic, just stock photos and cliché templates you’ve seen a hundred times. That’s a lot of effort for a role that doesn’t justify such a demanding process. Unless you’re okay with jumping through unnecessary hoops, I’d recommend saving your time and energy.
