      Entrevista

      Contacted by a recruiter from Splice for an open position. After a 30 minute call with the hiring manager, then was given a take-home assignment to complete. During the call with the hiring manager, they mentioned that they weren't aware that the meeting had been scheduled but thankfully were able to attend. We spent the half-hour talking about my experience, the role and answering any questions I had. Sent my submission within the week. Didn't receive any confirmation that the submission was received, so I followed up to make sure and got a response that it would take 1-2 business days. Heard nothing back during those 2 business days. The following week I received feedback that my submission might not be a good fit for this role but they enjoyed talking to me and would definitely be in touch for future roles. After investing the time to complete a take-home assignment, a clear declination with any level of feedback would've been greatly appreciated -- using the terminology that my solution "might " not be a good fit is unclear. The lack of concrete declination coupled with the enthusiasm to contact me about other roles left me somewhat confused about how well I had done in the process, what I could do to be more successful in the future if I were to interview with this company again, which roles would be a better fit and how far into the future we were talking about. Ultimately I believe that this was a declination that was poorly handled and didn't leave me with enough information to want to apply again.
