I was moved by the company’s mission, met the position requirements and was excited about the opportunity.
The initial interview was great and the recruiter was friendly. The next interviewer emphasized how extremely competitive the selection/screening process was for engineers seeking to work there, citing the percentage of candidates who do not pass - including current employees when rescreened. I began to sense arrogance versus healthy goal setting.
I was left with the impression there is a skewed sense of how to achieve greatness that rubbed me the wrong way. Humility and a focus on the company’s actual mission seemed lacking.
