Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 6 meses. Acudí a una entrevista en SpaceX en sep 2014

      Entrevista

The interview process started with the first phone interview with a young engineer asking basic technical questions. Then a second phone interview with a senior engineer asking technical questions. I sent my resume in in June. The first phone interview was in the beginning of July. The second phone interview was in the beginning of August. I had an in person interview where I was flown out to SpaceX in the beginning of September. There I gave a 20 min presentation to the analysis group and then had one on one interviews with individual engineers asking technical questions. Many of which required some basic calculations. The recruiter was very good. He was a laid back Californian in a bowling shirt. The whole office was very casual, some people wear football jerseys and nobody with a tie. The recruiter said that SpaceX is very popular for people to apply to so they can choose from the top 2% of the applicants. My interview went very well. Most of the engineers I talked with seemed impressed with my technical knowledge. I am a senior level engineer with quite a few years of experience. The engineers seemed very bright. I did sense a bit of cockiness with some of the younger engineers, but I think SpaceX likes this attitude. From what I found from their process of technical analysis, they seem to be learning as they go. One of the engineers said they don't do peer reviews. Which I thought was strange. Every place I have worked uses peer reviews as a sanity check for all technical work. I think I would like to work at SpaceX, the engineers seem to be able to work well with each other, keeping the final goal of successful launches in their sights. My initial feedback from the recruiter was I did very well in my interview, and one of the senior engineers said the team highly recommended me. But they were still interviewing others. Over the next couple of months I was told that I am still being considered. And then I did not hear back, so I assume they filled the position.

Me postulé a través de una facultad o universidad. El proceso tomó 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en SpaceX (New York, NY) en ene 2015

      Entrevista

Was contacted through email responding to an application, and scheduled a 40-minute phone interview over email. Interview was with a structural analyst in the Propulsion department who worked on turbopumps and shafts. Interview was challenging and enjoyable, since I'm a new grad, the interviewer asked technical questions from college level structural mechanics and material properties.
