The first interview was online. I was introduced to the company, the product, the team and the position, we talked about my experience, attitude and also mutual expectations. We agreed on an informal meeting with the team members at the company's premises in Brno, Czechia, followed by a technical round. At the meeting we introduced ourselves over coffee and talked for a while about life in the team, everything in a very pleasant and friendly atmosphere. Then followed about two hours of technical round with the manager and TL. After a few technical questions, we sat over a few code snippets and my task was to review the code or suggest refactoring. The interview also included creating an algorithm to solve a small sample problem. I really appreciate this form of interview, as it is more close to real teamwork and provides both parties with more information than the automated coding game type tests often used nowadays. The interview was concluded with a short tour of the offices, which are standard open office space but with a very nice view of Petrov. Of course, it is also possible to work from home. I found the way the team works very close to me, the people are smart, the work environment is friendly and the product is interesting. I got the job offer about a week after that interview.
