      I first received an email from a requiter who did not respond to me for quite some time until I followed up. At that point, I was connected with the hiring manager in a conversation that went well. From there, I presented 2 case studies to a team that was disengaged from the start and had their cameras off most of the time. At one point I was asked for a sample of something specific and I explained that I do not have it due to an NDA but would provide a mock sample if needed, which was met with laughter and eye rolls. So just know that you should be ready to share confidential information. I am a woman of color from an underprivileged background who has made my mark despite countless obstacles, but the culture of SoFi makes it very clear that my background was unwelcome from the moment they saw me on video. They are looking for people who are more 'like them' and they make this very clear. The interview was easy, but the people were not very kind.
