As a prior business owner and general manager that managed all inventory, estimating damages and mechanics of vehicles on a daily basis, approximately 50+ vehicles a day. I was extremely over qualified for the position but interested because it was a remote position and seemed like an interesting company.
Snapsheet sent an email requesting a phone interview with their recruiter, I confirmed. The morning of the interview they sent an email that I would be interviewing with another recruiter instead, I confirmed. When Snapsheet called, it was a completely different person from the previous two I had spoken with.
The interviewer had me on speaker phone or a conference phone and I could hardly hear because it was consistently cutting out. I told him I was having trouble hearing him, but he was a little rude and ignored it. The interview seemed like an interrogation with no personality, asking a question, waiting for response, and nothing inbetween.
At the end of the interview he asked if I had questions. I asked about the job description, if we were controlling costs of the repairs, he said "No" short and quickly. No discussion of the actual job description.
I then asked if I could hear about the benefits and 401k that the company provides and he said "I don't have that information, we usually discuss later in the job process" again short and quickly.
At that point it seemed like a badly run startup that I wasn't interested in. He sounded like he had no idea what was going on, and couldn't tell me anything about the company. As a prior business owner, I wouldn't have been happy with his interviewing technique. I should have looked at Glassdoor from the beginning to see other people had similar situations.

A quick HR prescreen phone call followed by a virtual interview. If the initial call goes well, you will be set up for the actual interview which entails mostly technical questions regarding estimating systems and the estimating process.

Damage photo presented and the candidate must explain how they would write an estimate based on the photo.
Interview was straightforward. It wasn't stressful, interviewer made it easy. Allowed for questions at the end of interview and was very knowledgeable. They are interested in both your estimating experience and your ability to negotiate with the body shops.

I have 7 years in the automotive/bodyshop industry and 4+ years estimating in CCC and Mitchell along with plenty of customer service. I applied and hours later got an interview with a recruiter the next day. She was extremely nice and the interview (15min) went very well. She told me she loved my background and experience and the hiring managers would call me tomorrow. Her telling me that gave me a lot of confidence and was prepared for the call. Days went by, and got an email saying I was not considered for the opportunity . I have the experience and interview went more than okay. Am I missing something?
